This time they call me Robbie. Ich bin eine pinguin. I also have a BS in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy, so arguing with me is generally a fruitless endeavor because I am convinced that I know everything!

I have lived in Savannah, GA, USA.
I have lived in Athens, GA, USA.
I have lived in Atlanta, GA, USA.
I have lived in Alpharetta, GA, USA.
I have lived in Denver, CO, USA.
I have lived in Colorado Springs, CO, USA.
I have lived in Roswell, GA, USA.
I now live in Forest Park, GA, USA (Atlanta Metro...it's by the State Farmer's Market just below the perimeter. I take the train from the College Park station, if that helps.).

I worked as an electricians' assistant.
I worked as a sales clerk for Godiva.
I worked in a call center (inbound...so many people yelling at me).
I worked in a theatre, primarily designing and running the lights (built a few sets and yanked some flies, too).
I worked renovating dilapidated houses for state subsidized low income housing.
I worked as an abstractor. Yup. I abstracted things. For two separate companies. After I left they ended up merging. Funny, huh? It was more interesting than you could possibly imagine. Yup.
I worked as a research assistant for a small social science research firm trying to make the world a nicer place one grant at a time.
I also was a research assistant in a psych department in which I was pursuing a graduate degree.
I am now looking for a job that will fit my very awkward schedule and until I find one I live on beans and rice and don't go out much.

After finding that there are quite a few places in the U.S. that I could not bear to live I have left grad school, where I was studying psychology, to return to Georgia for an undergraduate program in urban policy studies with a focus on planning and economic development.

I have now gone to a friends only format. Comment on any post you can read if you wish to be considered for in-group status. Don't be offended if I don't add you nor should you have any reason to expect that I won't. I have my reasons for doing this and it may only be temporary; I haven't decided one way or another yet. Until then feel free to amuse yourself reading some really bad poetry on my web page which was designed very poorly but has a picture of me in a swim-suit.

I am a vegetarian. (Actually, I'm a vegan but they didn't have a page for that. (Apparently they don't have a page for vegetarian anymore either but I'm leaving the link because I'm just that sort of a person. Maybe I'll make my own some day. (Maybe I'll make one today.)))

I am convinced that I piss off more people than I do in actuality.

I usually need a hug.

Madness is something rare in individuals - but in groups, parties, peoples, ages it is the rule. - Freidrich Nietzsche

One should respect public opinion insofar as is necessary to avoid starvation and keep out of prison, but anything beyond this is voluntary submission to an unnecessary tyranny. - Bertrand Russell

I felt I have not the right to want to change another if I am not open to be changed by him as far as it is legitimate. - Martin Buber

You must accept the truth from whatever source it comes. - Maimonides

Anticipate charity by preventing poverty; assist the reduced fellow man, either by a considerable gift or a sum of money or by teaching him a trade or by putting him in the way of business so that he may earn an honest livelihood and not be forced to the dreadful alternative of holding out his hand for charity. This is the highest step and summit of charity's golden ladder. - Maimonides

Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people. - Karl Marx

Men would never be superstitious, if they could govern all their circumstances by set rules, or if they were always favoured by fortune: but being frequently driven into straits where rules are useless, and being often kept fluctuating pitiably between hope and fear by the uncertainty of fortune’s greedily coveted favours, they are consequently for the most part, very prone to credulity. - Baruch Spinoza

Disgust is the appropriate response to most situations. - Jenny Holzer
